A good school has well functioning management that has a clear vision and effectively monitors both students and teachers. However, school leadership in developing countries often lacks the tools and insights to transcend the operational level of daily troubleshooting. Let alone they find the time and means to focus on improvement of the whole teaching-learning process.
Vision, monitoring, inspiration
In our work with school managers throughout the years, we have experienced the difference guiding leadership makes; inspiring leadership affects teachers and thereby students, and even parents and communities – regardless of level or school type.
Part of our EDUstars programme is the assessment of the school management of participating schools. If necessary, we draw up an improvement plan. We help school managers to define a vision, set goals and develop monitoring methods to track results.
